- What is "Basiik"?!?!
- Basiik (pronounced, “basic”) was my internet alias since I was 12 years old. When I started making hat, I combined it into “Boshi-Basiik”, which translates into “Basic Hat”. Currently, because we want to pursue a more general arsenal or products aside from just hats, we’ve dropped the “Boshi” and are currently using the name “Basiik Boutique”. Basiik started in 2003, so it’s been my love child for a while… we’re striving to bring you the best in fashion inspired by Japanese and Urban pop cultures!
- Who Runs Basiik?
- Two people work the BB magic: Myself, Susan, and my mother, Lan. I’ve always been interested in sewing, learning after my mother who was a professional seamstress for 14 years. We share the workload of the hat business evenly. A lot of the time you’ll also find my brother, Brian, helping us sell at cons.
- How are the Hats Made?
- Everything we make at BB is all made by hand. We are not a sweat shop and we do not hire others to work for us. It’s just the two of us ladies devoting ourselves to bringing you beautiful, hand made hats.
- What am I getting for the price?
- As stated above, all items in the BB store are hand made. We take great pride in our work and care for each and every one of our hats. We commit ourselves to delivering high quality products with beautiful craftsmanship. Our hats are carefully made to fit beautifully on your head, using a personally perfected pattern. All felt details are stitched onto the hats and we make sure that embroidered details are all in order! Frankly, if it’s not next to perfect, it’s not good enough for you, and you’ll see the Basiik difference right away!
- Do you do wholesale?
- YES! This is fairly new, but we’ve recently been able to fulfill small wholesale orders. Contact us with your inquires and we’ll talk!
- What are your shirts printed on?
- All of our shirts are printed on the finest- the one and only American Apparel. Like our hats, we only want to offer our customers the best, and we feel that American Apparel makes the nicest shirts around… and they make them in the US! (kind of like our hats, haha!)
- Who does your graphics?
- Basiik’s graphics come from three different people, but most of the site graphics are made by either myself, Susan, or my good friend, Jackson Armstrong. Both of us, and my brother, Brian, design the different shirts, so you can see which one of us did what when you check out our apparel.
- Where are these characters from?
- All of the characters and designs found on our site are 100% original. We hand draw and design every hat, character, shirt, etc. you can find here!
- How to I wash my goods?
- To wash hats, its easy- turn your hat inside out, toss it into a gentle, cold wash cycle, then lay it or hang it somewhere to dry!
For shirts, follow the care guide provided by American Apparel. These shirts are professionally printed; designs wont crack or fade!
- How do I know which Conventions you're going to?
- Ah- that you can find on our Myspace: http://myspace.com/boshibasiik . There we have a list of conventions we’re hitting up, and if you friend us, well, you’ll get cool bulletins about what we’re up to, including new products, surveys of what you guys want, etc. So, friend us. You know you want more friends.
- What forms of payment do you accept?

We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or regular account payments all through PayPal.
- How secure is this store?
